Bonjour,
My name is Carole and I am the director of Voila Hair Salon Brighton.
I was born in the north of France, I moved to Australia in 2001.
I am someone who gets bored very quickly and wanted to start working as soon as possible and was not keen on uni, so hairdressing was the best possible job for me. I have never ever looked back. I love that no two days are ever the same. I have meet so many different people, learnt so much just by chatting to my guest through the years.
Starting my apprenticeship in 1990, where the fashion was very different to now. I have learnt all the classic dos (chignon, French roll, even perms). When I lived in Paris, I’ve worked in franchise salon to learn different technique’s and way’s to do hair, I then realized “If I ever open a salon myself one day it will be a Small Boutique with a very family vibe 😉 )
My forte is balayage (the French way of course) which give’s a very natural look and follow’s the natural flow of the hair. I love when guests sit on my chair and relax straight away as they know they are in good hands.
As we all know our Hair makes us feel so much better / A true quote is “Good Hair, Good Day”.
The most rewarding feeling is when a guest leaves the salon with a big smile.
I opened Voila Hair Salon in 2011. It was the scariest thing I have ever done (maybe apart from jumping from a plane). I have had up’s and down’s. I’ve failed and got up again. I have had some fantastic hairdressers work for me for couple of years, and now have about 4 that have been with me for 7 years and more. I feel so lucky to have a fantastic team, we aren’t only colleagues but friends who support each other in difficult times.
Outside of work, I keep busy with my young 16-year-old son, Jacques. He is my pride and joy. I love keeping busy, go for walks (loads during lockdown), catching up with friends, discovering places, stand up Paddle boarding on our beautiful beaches. I have travelled to so many places (while going back to France most years). Most of my family are in France and can’t wait to see them again this year after 3.5 years.
Thanks for getting to know me, I look forward to getting to know you in salon soon. ❤️
